Noayama is the alter ego of 23-year-old producer, DJ, media artist, and documentary filmmaker Noah Berger. Raised near Munich, he was immersed in electronic music from an early age. Socialized through the diverse lens of hip-hop culture and inspired by boundary-pushing artists like JPEGMafia, Madlib, Earl Sweatshirt, Samiyam, Slauson Malone, as well as Jockstrap and Christian Vogel, Noayama has continuously refined his sound and artistic vision.
The son of Michael Fakesch, one half of glitch-hop pioneers Funkstörung, Noayama carries a musical legacy that merges experimental electronics with a raw, self-proclaimed “punk attitude”—a core element of his creative identity.
Based in both Linz and Munich, he is currently studying Timebased and Interactive Mediaarts at the University of Arts Linz (Kunstuni Linz). His interdisciplinary work spans music, documentary film, DJing, and media art. In 2025, he premiered a touching, hour-long documentary about his grandparents at the Crossing Europe Film Festival, receiving praise for its emotional intimacy and storytelling.
His media art practice combines objet trouvé, vintage and contemporary electronics, and custom-built 3D-printed elements, forming sculptural and sonic installations that explore the tension between nostalgia and future aesthetics.
Noayama’s debut album, released via Affine Records (Vienna), showcases his broad collaborative range, featuring contributions from Maassai, Hprizm, Coppe’, Funkstörung, and Taprikk Sweezee.
